Provides practical camera/lighting instruction and experience in support of the production of second year films. This developmental course provides opportunities for student crews to practice their craft, independently off-campus on documentary productions and in-studio exercises. Students will learn how to assemble and operate a high-end production camera. They will also learn how establish mood and environment with lighting. This course will provide the willing student with marketable skills to enter the Toronto film industry. This course requires empathy, compassion and humility in all interactions and communication amongst the students, the instructor, and the outside world. This course fosters critical thinking, requiring students to consider logistics and to develop the ability to assess and analyze relevant information while considering audience they are creating for.
