Course Code: FMTV 322
Academic Year: 2025-2026
This course takes the form of project-based learning where the instructor acts as an advisor and consultant to the students on the capstone projects, PSAs, and short film assignments they are directing. The main focus in this semester is on areas of pre-production: finding your voice as a director, script development and analysis, casting, directing actors, refining dramatic structure and imperatives of the story and thereby arriving at a shooting style and resulting shot list. The classes will be divided into script/scene workshops, a theoretical or lecture portion, screening and critique of student work, and individual consultations on projects.
