Course Code: FMTV 361
Academic Year: 2025-2026
In the second semester, students will take their first semester project from outline to draft to polished script. Each project will have an in-class table read in addition to being workshopped by the writer's story editing group and receiving consultation from the instructor during class hours, or mutually suitable hours. This approach will demonstrate the importance of re-writing and developing strong story analysis skills as well as allow students to develop a stronger, more polished, script. Students will also learn how to story edit both their own scripts and those of other writers - a skill necessary for effective collaboration and project development. Each participant will also create coverage and story notes for a feature film and/or television script. Furthermore, students will be given practical insight into the world of film and television writing and production.
