Students will interpret and apply provincial statutes. Topics will Include the Fire Protection and Prevention Act (FPPA), Provincial Offences Act (POA), Municipal Act, Building Code Act, Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), Employment Standards Act (ESA) and the Coroners Act. Specific attention will be paid to examples of each, where they directly impact the provision of Emergency Services. Students will learn how to correctly take notes, prepare witness statements and testify in a court of law.
