In this course, students learn how to navigate, interpret and apply the requirements of the Ontario Fire Code - Division B - Part 2 (Fire Safety) and Part 6 (Fire Protection Equipment). Students review fire, life safety and building systems in Ontario as well as the prevention and control of fire losses. Students identify and analyze different types of fire hazards, fire protection, life safety and building systems. Students compare and discuss how the previous can be in compliance or non-compliance with the Ontario Fire Code and other referenced standards (i.e.National Fire Protection Association). This course is part of the education requirements for eligibilty to write the Provincial Certification Exam for NFPA 1031 - Fire Inspector Level l.
