This course will focus on the processes involved in serving a client or family from the point of initial contact. Legal authority when taking direction to legal requirements when disposing of human remains will be discussed, with etiquettes and multicultural sensitivities at the forefront of those processes. Students will discuss the multitude of options available with respect to funeral related merchandise and memorialization, as well as the various agencies that offer funding assistance when a death occurs and the estate responsibilities of next of kin following a death.
