Students will explore key regulations, such as the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), that govern patient privacy and data security. The course covers best practices for protecting health information from cyber threats and unauthorized access. Students will also learn about the challenges of maintaining secure health information systems in an era of digital transformation.
