This course focuses on the acquisition of model development skills for use in industrial design. It also explores the value of models in investigating, integrating, testing and explaining design ideas. Building on traditional practices students source, specify, cut and form materials into shapes that can be assembled into design models. The models illustrate the aesthetic characteristics including scale, proportion, and details and finish while demonstrating the functional aspects of product concepts.
