This course is a study of indigenous family and community in the cultural context. Learners are provided with the cultural foundations of family and community systems and the traditional processes for building and maintaining harmony and well-being in whole and healthy families and communities. The course engages learners in developing knowledge and understanding of the clan system as the cultural system for creating social order and optimizing harmony in relationships. The learner is introduced to traditional forms of relationship and social order in order to develop an understanding of indigenous experience in the contemporary environment.
