This is the final and most advanced level of the television news courses. It continues to build on the skills and techniques and industry knowledge learned in the previous TV courses. Each week, students will produce full-length newscasts that will be broadcast throughout the college on Humber TV and streamed on Humber's website. In creating these newscasts, students will rotate through all newsroom positions - producer, line-up editor, writer, reporter and all technical control room jobs. The emphasis will be placed on reporting, writing and producing television news stories and news programs to professional industry standards in a collaborative, deadline-driven atmosphere in order to prepare students for the competitive workplace. Students will also be responsible for producing a feature report and magazine program at the end of the semester.
