In this course, students will develop a "nose for news" by analyzing news stories and storytelling formats in Canadian media organizations. Students will scrutinize news articles to examine how they are constructed, from the sources they use to the writing structure and storytelling techniques. The course will prepare students to formulate story ideas, understand their place in the news cycle and articulate crucial perspectives required to accurately report on contemporary society.
