Do you know how to get people to talk? In this course, students will learn the art of the interview. Whether in a media event, one-on-one or streeters, interviewing is a fundamental skill for news writing and reporting. Students will learn how to ask questions of strangers with diverse experiences through a series of mock interviews, industry examples and practical assignments. Learners will start to identify appropriate sources according to professional journalistic practice and how to talk to people with sensitivity and consider their context. The course also includes a self-driven learning module that focuses on Indigenous reconciliation.
