In this course students will be mapping, charting, graphing and applying basic html coding skills to prepare for an industry where detailed infographics often complement and at times replace traditional content. Students learn advanced strategies for accessing and mining data as a means to identify and produce investigative, in-depth multiplatform story items. They will also be introduced to tools and strategies to fix inaccurate or incomplete data. Students will be prepared to responsibly use data in a journalistic context and present their findings in clear, meaningful ways - including with text and visualizations.
