This course builds on skills from Broadcast Writing and Radio 1, focusing on writing concise radio copy, refining lineup techniques, and enhancing newsroom organization and interpersonal skills. Students will master their use of the Burli content management system to write, lineup, and read newscasts. They will produce and read four-minute news packages in a newsroom lab, with the ultimate goal of preparing for live newscasts on Radio Humber 96.9FM. The course emphasizes teamwork under tight deadlines, critiquing newscasts for style and presentation, and producing long-form audio interviews based on feature stories from Magazine 2.
