Students develop conceptual knowledge and practical skills for maintenance of mechanical systems in industry. The modern industrial maintenance organization with its policies and practices is introduced and students develop preventive and corrective maintenance skills. Students will learn main concepts of failure mode and effect analysis for different mechanical systems. In a lab, students will have hand-on experience to learn required skills in maintaining, failure analysis and troubleshooting of major mechanical components such as gears, bearings, belts and couplings. The application of vibration monitoring in mechanical system troubleshooting will be introduced and will be practiced in the lab.
