A survey of the history of new media and its contemporary applications, including a study of the parallel values and history of film. Through readings, online screenings, guest speakers and group projects, students will develop a greater understanding of the inherent complexities of converging old and new media, and the ethical considerations and meaning-making that occurs as a result. Category and Level: Society, Culture & Commerce, Lower Level Restrictions: Bachelor of Film & Media Production and Bachelor of Digital Communications students are restricted from taking this course as a breadth elective.
