Mastering is a critical step in the production process to ensure recorded music translates engagingly to listeners across platforms. Students will prepare distribution-ready master files by creatively enhancing mixes and following format-specific technical procedures. Historical and cultural perspectives on the mastering profession, loudness and AI will be explored through critical listening, discussion, practical exercises and research activities.
