Building on the rudiments learned in Painting and Colour 1, students delve further into the painting process and the complexity of colour. The investigation of the painting materials, methods and techniques will culminate in more realized works of art in a variety of formats and supports. Students will fully engage with the creative process, learning to bring ideas to canvas and reality through thumbnail sketches, colour studies, preliminary drawings and the transferring of these drawings to the canvas. Students will be encouraged to experiment with painting techniques and applications to make the visual language of painting and colour a vehicle for personal expression.
