Reporting in Indigenous Communities will show journalism students how to respect and invest time in learning the culture and protocols of the communities they report on, and how to recognize and avoid the stereotypes, implicit bias, and racism in popular, mainstream reporting. Through lectures, guest speakers, discussions and fieldwork, students will gain awareness and knowledge about journalisms impact, negative and positive, on Indigenous communities in Canada.
