This course is a series of weekly workshops that prepare students for their upcoming Field Experience. Topics covered include career planning, job seeking techniques, discussion of industry related issues, professionalism, and self-management. Students perfect cover letters and resumes, create a database of potential employers/opportunities, and practice their communication skills by participating in mock interviews, and by conducting informational interviews with professionals in their field. Guest speakers from the industry will provide students with a range of perspectives on current and future trends, as well provide mentorship. Lastly, students will review the process and requirements for securing an approved Field Experience through the Work-Integrated Learning Department.
