In this theory and simulated practice environment, students engage in learning opportunities to build professional identify and behaviour as a member of a regulated health profession. Learning opportunities support students to use problem-solving and decision-making skills, work as an effective team member, build caring environments, develop therapeutic relationships, and use communication skills. With guidance, students move toward self-directed proficiency in foundational nursing interventions. Students perform initial assessments creating an environment that fosters recovery and wellness. Working collaboratively, students use the nursing process in a simulated practice environment to assess, plan, implement intervention, evaluate, and document clients' healthcare needs and health outcomes related to client safety, oxygenation, nutrition, hydration, elimination, hygiene, and mobility. Students must successfully demonstrate knowledge and skill development.
