Storytelling is at the heart of effective public relations, and with the evolution of communications technology, the practice of storytelling has gained in complexity. This course is designed to direct students through a multi-platform storytelling project by developing their understanding of the process and its impact on corporate communications challenges. Students will explore how public relations campaigns evolve through real-world stages such as concept, proposal and final product. Modules will engage participants in a thorough and rigorous exploration of the possibilities and limitations of common public relations storytelling platforms including videos, articles, special events, podcasts and social media. Effective public relations writing and developing strategies that help support organizational goals will be emphasized at all stages.
