Building on the skills and knowledge acquired in PPFT 5006, Intro to VFX, students will begin to explore compositing and animation. Students will learn rotoscoping, element removal and addition, and timing. Utilizing layer-based and node-based software, students will learn the different techniques for keying an image. Through hands one lab work, students will begin CG element design and assembly in both 2D and 3D animated tools. They will take these skills and learn to implement the CG elements naturally into a scene. Students will also learn the workflow for Virtual Production, how visual effects modelling and animation fits into the LED set creation, and how their skills can be applied in development and production.
