In this practical writing course, you will learn to write underutilized but highly effective media materials. You will develop and apply new writing skills to increasingly complex messages to a variety of audiences. Knowing how to keep your organization in the news is a highly-marketable strategic skill and is the primary theme of this course. As such, attention is paid to producing different types of media and influencer-bound materials include: media advisories/alerts, media releases, briefing notes and letters to the editor/opinion (OpEd) pieces of interest/relevance to key on- and offline news media and industry influencers. Students will also hone their proofreading/editing and summarization skills to write to more concisely and to professional standards.
