Issues management is a proactive and systematic approach to predict problems, anticipate threats, minimize surprises, resolve issues and prevent crisis. PR practitioners face constant challenges when addressing the four phases of the Conflict Management Life Cycle moving from the Proactive, Strategic, Reactive to Recovery stages. Students will engage in issues management as a proactive, organized activity of identifying emerging trends, concerns, and problems that may affect an organization and developing organized responses to mitigate potential organizational reputational damage. The reality is that a crisis can occur without warning. Learners prepare for crisis by anticipating potential risks and creating a crisis plan to handle various scenarios.
