This course explores the advocacy knowledge and understanding required when practicing before administrative tribunals, including the practice and procedures applicable to administrative bodies and tribunals along with the requisite documentation. Learning and understanding of paralegal advocacy skills are emphasized along with the professional conduct required for this area of practice. In addition to learning about advocacy in general, this course explores a number of tribunals to provide insight, knowledge and understanding of the purpose, and practice of appearing before a range of tribunals, by understanding a critical analysis of the identified tribunals. Students will learn about procedural fairness and address evidentiary and substantive issues through discussion and assessments relevant to a tribunal practice and hearing.
