Security professionals in the private and public sectors are increasingly intersecting with the realm of internet technologies and interacting with IT departments in their day-to-day activities. Cybersecurity can no longer be separated from traditional security roles. In this computer lab based course, students will learn to identify common cyber threats and implement effective countermeasures that enhance organization security. Students will also learn the fundamentals of cybersecurity and practice protecting from threats to software, hardware or the information stored therein through the hands-on computer labs. Topics such as the dark web, internet-of-things, and artificial intelligence will be discussed in the context of security.
