Course Code: PSYC 245
Academic Year: 2021-2022
Course Description: Have you ever taken a personality test on the Internet? According to some of these tests, your favourite colour, or even the way you eat an Oreo cookie says something about your hidden personality. But what exactly do we mean by "personality"? And how can we measure it so that we know the test results actually mean something? In this course we'll examine the various factors that together make up our personalities, including our motives, our traits, our sense of ourselves, and our ways of thinking about ourselves and others. We'll also examine reliable ways of measuring these different aspects of personality, and explore how these different aspects are related to our lives - to our career choices, our social success, our work behavior, our health, and our love lives.
