This course is designed to provide the student with an understanding of the aetiology, symptomology, diagnostic issues, and treatment in Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs). The curriculum is based on selected readings from the most current research in the field. Particular focus will also be given to a critical analysis of popular controversies, evidence-based practices, the contributions of ABA in the treatment of ASDs, and competency in working within an interdisciplinary team and with diverse cultural and familial systems.
