Writers need to conduct high-quality research in a methodical and ethical manner to create readable and accurate content. This course helps students develop a range of skills in primary research and secondary research. Students learn to identify sources, evaluate source credibility and fact check both their own work and the work of others. They learn how to develop strong research strategies and use a variety of methods to organize and manage their research so that it is readable and accessible. Students also practice citation and learn about related issues including copyright, public domain, reproduction rights and permissions and privacy.
