In this course, students learn time management techniques, leadership styles, inclusive collaboration techniques, and project management processes to help them become effective communications managers and leaders. Through a team project, students learn to work together while using project management processes and products. They plan purposeful meetings, take on leadership roles, and self-manage cooperatively to develop a project from start to finish. Through partnerships between the program and select organizations, students create project plans for these organizations; in return, the sponsors offer guidance, mentorship, and portfolio building.
