Data management plays a large role in the daily activities of researchers and organizations. This course will provide a comprehensive introduction to data and database management and analysis. In this course, students will learn how to use Microsoft Excel to calculate fundamental descriptive statistics, present data in a variety of graphical forms, and generate formulae and functions that manipulate and combine variables. Additionally, students learn how to best analyze data for research enquiries and goals. The course will teach concepts related to data organization, representation, access, storage, and processing, and will provide an introduction to SQL, in order to create queries and manipulations of databases.
