This course covers topics related to professional practice, work integrated learning, and career preparation, including the personal, and inter-personal skills that are necessary for employment in the research field, and are transferable to other sectors. Students will study a selection of topics covering job and career search strategies and resources, networking, creating a personal brand, entrepreneurship, professional portfolios, interviewing, cover letter and resume writing skills, organizational behavior, conflict resolution, intercultural communications, the virtual work-world, and software applications for the workplace. Students will be able to demonstrate their understanding of the importance of continuous professional learning by undertaking a group or solo project related to their career development
