In this course, students identify key concepts of how facilities operate and what makes them successful. Throughout the course, students discuss design factors, staffing concerns, operational considerations, accessibility factors, maintenance issues and employment and career opportunities. Furthermore, students gain an understanding of the key expenses and sources of revenue for these facilities. Through group discussion, guest lectures, facility tours and critical examination of current and relevant literature, this course prepares students for the nuances associated with becoming successful in the field of facility operations (management/game day/coordination).
