Human Resource Management (HRM) and leadership skills are best learned through a hands-on approach. This course will explore the key areas of HRM and leadership. Personal leadership strengths and potential improvement areas will be explored through a series of self-understanding and analysis tools. The differences between management and cross-functional leadership attributes will be explored, as well legal aspects of the Canadian workplace, recruitment methods, hiring processes, unionized environment perspectives, and managing individuals in a multi-faceted workplace. Creating effective teams and related motivational theories for team success will be learned and applied through an in-depth case analysis.
