Though we live in a wireless world, few of us fully understand the technology, types and applications of networks, or fully appreciate their advantages and disadvantages. This course is for non-specialists who want to understand the role of wireless networking in global telecommunications, the architecture of cellular networks, and the technology and applications of GPS technology. Lectures and tutorials will explore technologies such as satellite, cellular telephony, microwave, paging systems and global positioning navigation systems. Category and Level: Science and Technology, Lower Level Restrictions: Bachelor of Digital Communications students are restricted from taking this course as a breadth elective.
