Course Code: SCIE 3000
Academic Year: 2025-2026
Since the development of the scientific method, science has radically changed our understanding of the world around us, and has shifted the ways in which we survive in and interact with nature. This course explores the history of diverse scientific discoveries and the integration of these discoveries into ecology, systems, and complexity theory. We discuss technologies that contributed to scientific discoveries, and the ways in which these discoveries inspired new technologies. Emphasis is placed on a descriptive understanding of the themes and their implications to thought, society, and our daily lives, rather than developing specific science skills.
