Achieving solutions to environmental problems that we face today requires long-term actions for sustainable development. Renewable energy technologies, such as wind, solar, and geothermal, are particularly sustainable, though some may have negative ecological impacts. This course focuses on the technological, cost, and environmental fundamentals of emerging sources of energy including solar, wind, hydropower, and geothermal. Students will gain a concrete understanding of our current energy situation and will be able to evaluate the use of renewable energy for a sustainable future.
