Supply chain sustainability focus on the effort required to address the environmental and human impact of their products' journey through the supply chain, starting from raw materials to production, storage, delivery, customer use in addition to the transportation link throughout the supply chain. This course focuses on developing student understanding of the emerging relationship and responsibility between the three pillars of sustainability (economic, social and environmental). Students will learn about the contemporary business needs of addressing sustainability issues such as overconsumption, overproduction, pollution, and waste. Restorative strategies such as responsible supply chain design and management, lean manufacturing, multiple stakeholder communication and negotiation, and other sustainability innovations in the areas of design, production, consumption, manufacturing, etc. will be explored on this course.
