Course Code: SNRG 252
Academic Year: 2023-2024
This course primarily focuses on building energy simulation software theory, procedures, and application. Students will learn Part 3 and Part 9 energy simulation software on the market and the strengths and weaknesses of each. Students will also gain an understanding of when and how the simulation software can help inform both design and client decisions. Much of the course will be spent using the software packages to improve understanding of simulation applications and develop skills in energy simulation methodology. Finally, students will learn how to interpret simulation results to calculate the cost of various energy efficiency measures and present and communicate these results via reporting. This course focuses heavily on in-class assignments and participation, which is reflected in the grading scheme. It requires prior fundamental understanding of all building systems.
