Course Code: SNRG 317
Academic Year: 2025-2026
This course involves application of the student's understanding of deep energy retrofit strategies and Passive House design principles. The project, a community center, will incorporate advanced sustainable building practices such as super-insulated assemblies, airtight enclosures, high performance glazing, thermal bridge-free construction, and advanced ventilation systems. Students will prepare working drawings and details focused on high-performance building enclosures, prioritizing low-carbon design and ultra-low energy use. The project will address various construction challenges, including interconnected floor spaces, barrier-free ramps, roof terraces, retrofit work, expansion joints, low-slope roof systems, and skylight assemblies. All drawings must be completed in metric units using REVIT Architecture, and adhere to the Ontario Building Code.
