This course is designed to help provide students an introduction to the interdisciplinary field of sport management in addition to the essential responsibilities and knowledge required by sport managers within the field. The course focuses on the origins of venues, even management and building operations, sport marketing, sport media, sport finance, and ethics in sport management. Students will also be provided information on the importance of developing a professional perspective as well as the support systems that are crucial to sustain and grow the sport industry - broadcasting media, facility and event management.
