This is a general course on Stage Rigging, covering the physics and equations involved with - and the practical use of - various types of rigging equipment, hardware and systems. The course covers chain motors and trusses, Ground Rigging and Top Rigging, block and tackles, roll drops, loads and reactions, traveler systems, miscellaneous rigging, and a basic introduction to post-fall rescue and safe climbing techniques. Particular attention is given to safety, including the stresses imposed on materials, equipment, and structures.
