This course will emphasize the application of mathematics to solve practical problems related to the skills required in the HRAC technology programs. Topics to be covered include numerical computation; signed numbers; measuring instruments and measurements; fractions and decimals, ratio, proportion and variation; percent and percent change values related to HRAC technology and general business practices; perimeters, areas and volumes of simple 2D and 3D shapes and geometry with HRAC applications; Imperial and SI Units and conversions; multi-step algebra - solving simple equations using substitution and change of subject; reading graphs and charts.
