Mathematics of Tourism is a foundational course that reviews basic math concepts and introduces students to costing principles and skills essential to understanding, developing, and executing tourism transactions. Practical exercises and examples related to the tourism industry will enable students to become knowledgeable and confident to solve financial and mathematical challenges. Course content includes costings, budgeting, commissions, currency exchange, markups, margins, discounts, simple interest, dynamic pricing, competitive analysis, and industry related statistics.
