Come on a trip around the world! Studying tourism geography creates an understanding of place and distance which are key decision factors when making travel plans. This foundational course covers travel logistics, tourism patterns and travel trends specific to world destinations that are popular with Canadian travellers. Through lectures, exercises and applied research, learners will become proficient in physical geography and identifying unique destination attributes; this will ensure they are well-equipped to create customer itineraries that are both exciting and logistically sound. Course content includes geographic terminology, landforms, bodies of water, climate, key cities/regions, airport codes, as well as developing mapping and travel planning skills.
