This course will provide students with the professional standards and career planning skills required in planning for their internship and ultimately a career within the tourism Industry. Students will be introduced to the various career paths available across multiple sectors of the tourism Industry and the key skill sets demanded by today's employers. Course work will assist students in their development of a resume and a digital portfolio. Additionally, students will identify job search strategies as well as develop networking, career planning and practice interview skills. This course also introduces students to the legislation that governs the travel industry in Ontario and prepares them to write the TICO Education Standards Exam; a certification mandatory for anyone in Ontario engaged in selling travel services to the end customer.
