Advanced Geoinformatics: Drone (UAV) Applications

Course Code: UAV 300

Academic Year: 2024-2025

Drones, or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are gaining popularity in the fields of navigation and remote sensing as they provide unique advantages, including the ability to collect precise spatial resolution images in small, difficult to access areas, short revisit periods, remote data acquisition in hazardous environments and low operational costs. This courses examines the application of drones to the field of Geoinformatics in order to collect the highest quality data (images) with precise georeferencing information, incorporating the use of digital camera, multi-spectral camera, and LiDAR sensor.
