Course Code: VADA 203
Academic Year: 2025-2026
Building on previous course work (VADA151 Figure Drawing 1), students will continue to develop proficiency with figure drawing. By application of drawing principles, methods and materials, the student strengthens their fluency of expression. Major topics covered include: methods of seeing/drawing, gesture, proportion, line, mass, expression, materials and professional practice. Evaluation will be based on portfolios of figure drawings completed from the life model, and independent assignments that allow for creative exploration of figurative work. The overall objective of the course is to synthesize the theory and practice of figure drawing with the expression of one's ideas and emotions to generate strong, figurative artworks.
