The main objectives of this course are to provide a working understanding of digital photography for the purpose of creating photo-based art works. Students will also learn skills for documenting two and three-dimensional works of art. Students will learn basic camera handling utilizing camera controls as aperture value, time value, ISO settings and proper white balance; lighting, composition, found image manipulation and restoration techniques, & colour management. These skills will be crucial for creating a photographic portfolio of their own body of work. Students will also be introduced to past and present photo-based art, and the practitioners of this art form.
